For 50 years or more I’ve been walking on this land ,
I’ve seen the footsteps in the sand
and I’ve been carried when I could not stand
between you and me
you know things don’t always go to plan

For 50 years or more I’ve been talking to my soul ,
some secrets I’ve been told
I’ll never share them with the young or old
so I’ll keep them to myself
in a quiet place that I hold

The spirit within me is a river running free
through this land to the sky
where the birds fly so high above

The spirit within me is a peace that flows oh so
easy and it lifts me constantly in love ;

Share in the peace that’s there
Its wonderful and its rare
For 50 years or more I’ve been wanting to be with you
and no matter where I am
I completely understand ,
peace was in the world long before the rivers ever ran
