Why do I bother
with these little things?

Allow me to suggest that narcissism is not so terrible
a quality for an animal- and might even ring
with a certain nobility.

Because,
like many men, especially those that lived
when the world was new, I seem to be unable
to connect with The People, other than to be known
by them, and that is a one-way sound.

these little things? I’m burying
treasure over here. Even if no one ever finds it, I dip
into it myself over years- relearning lessons.
