Meltdown

let the paradox of matter swell my skull
with violent dreams where hot reactors tore
blindly at atoms and saline washes cool
let the deep stuff of it all leak from every pore
as briny swill then mottles through the sand
and orchestrated organs shudder in awe
let me hit critical mass, my heart expand
beyond thoracic confines, spindly ribs cave
as the Aldeburgh sea crimps the blasted land
let the fierce foam surge and my abdomen crave
with a hot need which strums my nerves to yearn
blown apart temples fling flesh across the waves
let my fine particulate body serve its turn
then be crushed in the dazzle of nuclear burn.
