The Runaway Tree

A little tree,
I tried to chop
down with my little hatchet.

 

It ran from me
and would not stop
and I just couldn't catch it.

 

"I've never seen
a tree", I said,
"That ran. It is absurd".

 

But then a green
wood up ahead
chased me just like a herd.
