Sublimely Suburban Sparrow

Sublimely Suburban Sparrow
She sings in high notes
Each morn.
Her voice Mellifluous, though breaks heart.
Over us, she keeps sentinel.
Suburbia will be devoid of colour
Without our loyal sparrow.
You stole my heart- thy inner Londoner.
Mighty is her spirit
Her dainty flight is but a dream.
Suburbia would be impoverished
Without our lovely sparrow sublime.
She tells us tales many
Breathlessly.
Why its number was on decline
Previously.
But she is back now.
Our sparrow of delight.
Bird- feeders keep her well fed
So that she is myriad bred.

common dignity
Beautiful! "Mighty is her spirit her dainty flight is but a dream". Common meek, gentle modest dignity. Of the birds I love sparrows most and then doves. Why don't you experiment a bit and write some more on sparrows? I was suprised to learn that our own Cape Sparrow is actually indigenous to Africa, to southern Arica and not England or Europe or elsewhere. A friendly happy lively little chap.
