ALL THAT GLITTERS IS NOT GOLD
Cotton ,soft and white
Descending
From the sky
Is bright white
Down from the sky
Scared
The hell out of me
Driving
In the desert sun
Mirage deceives me
Cotton wool
Soft
Touched it
was cold
Burns
Cotton
Was
What I saw
When I touched it
Was cold & burns
Was snow
See rain from a distance
Is it coming towards me
Or
Away from me?
As a child
Used to amaze me
Is it my sight
Cheating me
Is seeing believing?
Or do we see
What we believe?
Does our eyes connive
To give a scenario
That distorts and
Inflates our ego
Reality as perceived
Does it reflect actuality?
Or
Is it like rainbow
Pleasing to the eyes
But soon disappears
Or
Like sunrise & sunset
Ephemeral
Pleases our senses
Leaving us hollow
Admiring the glow
All that glitters is not gold
If that is the case
Can we tell whether
we are alive or dead
Don't dream all day
Could be all illusion
For those who can't
Attain it
But
For those who can
Dream appear real
Its effect ephemeral
