Request for Advice

I am presently sifting through about 500 of my own poems looking to compile a collection of about one hundred pages and 50+ pieces. It'll be self-published and only available on the 'Zon. Theoretically speaking - after all, you could read them on here if you wanted to look for them - what would you pay for a good quality paperback? I'm looking to set the price at £4.99, less than a fiver, Egad!

Sarcasm and humourous posts will be ignored (unless they're very funny).

Comments

the general trend is 99p on Kindle and £9.99 for paperback. Poems, of course, are cheaper.

Thanks for kicking over the bee-hive Ewan!

From what I've read on publishing self-publishing is not done. Point. Only your best friends and family by the book, the rest too lies gathering dust in the cupboard nobody reads it. Probably then you've already lost money and self-esteem.

However, print on demand is quite respectable. But aren't we already published here on Abctales? You wouldn't get near it by your own. One can understand that people want to write and publish in a paper form it is a dream for many of us. But you already have an incredible opportunity right here,

We are probably read a great deal more than what the stats say, and I believe especially for poetry the internet is an excellent medium. The fact is no-one has ever become rich from poetry, admittedly yes, from lyrics.

It is a beautiful day here, pleasant and sunshine, it will very soon officially be spring.

Thanks for the interesting blog! Nolan &
