AMERICAN HAIKU
Haiku is meant to both enlighten and to heighten ones awareness of the subtle though often complex realities of life and living, our relationship with nature and each other as related to our own associations and nostalgia. Haiku is contemplative, a combination of inspiration, perception and meditation, expressing a specific moment, the sensation, impression or drama within that moment as seen by the soul beyond the vision of the naked eye. A haiku will have as much inner meaning as it does outward appearance, the meaning being visualized and varying for each reader according to his or her circumstances at the time of reading. The haiku is totally individual in translation.
