Poetry and the Stroke Association
UKAuthors and The Boho Press are publishing a poetry anthology, the proceeds of which will go the Stroke Assocation. Same idea as A Sporting Chance, except this year we wanted to take our time over it and create a really special book that showcases the wealth of talent that can be seen across the small press scene.
So, if you're interested in donating a verse or two (or three, even), take a look here:
So c'mon guys, be...er...charitable, eh? We'd be most awfully grateful and *you'd* get to be in print. Can't be bad, can it?

HAND OF FRIENDSHIP
Tonight a friend stretched out a hand
You took hold, now you understand
That loneliness is no longer there
You have someone with whom to share
No words were needed, so none were said
This road you took, you were not lead
You gave yourself another chance
You found a partner for the dance
The dance through life is never sure
But this is what true friends are for
They do not push, nor do they shout
They are there when you are in doubt
They never question, seldom query
They cheer you up when you are weary
True friends are always by your side
So share your light, don't let it hide.
THE KEEPER OF THE LIGHT
He is the keeper of the light
There is only He
He gave to us the light of love
And through this he set us free
He holds our hands in time of doubt
He draws us in, never puts us out
Gives he succour to the needy
Calls us to him when we are ready
He burdens us, to let us see
There is no other God but He
He is the Truth, the Light, the Power
He leads us through our darkest hour
When we believe that all is lost
He lifts us up, never counts the cost
He is all things to everyone
And He is God's only Son.
