ringtones

Have just bought a new mobile phone which had turned my head with voice activated dialling and coloured lights when it ges on and of AND a wee starry witch graphic - love it. So I thought I'd get a ringtone online instead of using the shipped ones this time - even though the Mozart one - Queen of the Night - I think it is, is fabulous.

What a choice. I found myself thinking what would be naff and what would be cool, and do I care about my phone sounding cool and what does a ringtone say about a person anyway - other than, in my case, the sorry state of my monkey mind and how little work I have to do on a boring Wednesday. It is Wednesday isnt' it????

There is a girl in the office who has that 'I see you baby, shakin' that ass' and it makes me just want to ram her phone right up her shaky ass it's so annoying.

Anyway, I was v. tempted by Je t'aime as it was very high quality and not bingy at all. And may still order it. Then v. cool miserlou, the Pulp Fiction dance, but that seemed too obvious.

In the end I plumped for the theme tune to Roobard & Custard coz I love it.

So what's your ringtone and why did you choose it?

hello girlie whilst i would really prefer to be so cool and unbothered about ringtones that i just have an ordinary "ring ring" thing ... i am afraid i am juvenile and ridiculous and have different tones for different people ...and all in what they call in this house Polly Wolly Doodle Ringtones ... when friends ring it has a tone like a very sinister fairground roundabout ... when family ring it is a highly excitable di di diddle di di deee deeee deeee and when bert rings it plays "haaaaaaaaa ... ley .... loooooo.... yaaaaaa"

I have Butterfly by DJ Mystik (a very jaunty Japanese pop sung from Dance Dance Revolution). I chose it in order to win the much coveted office 'Gayest Ringtone' award, which I did. I am pondering changing it to the theme from Mortal Kombat, the theme to Return Of The Living Dead, or possibly Amerika by Rammstein.

i did have "going underground " by the jam, but lost it when i switched phones and haven't been arsed enough to get it again...so it's the ring ring one, although i am mightily shocked that most people seem to keep that awful nokia one....

gayest ringtone, excellent :-) Can you believe they had no ABBA??!?!!? Did the last 30 years mean nothing? ...have to find out if I can associate ringtones to numbers, that would be good... am searching for a logo to replace the TESCO swine logo. I hate that. I liked 'my owner's a babe' that made me laugh, but just some leaves or flowers would do me...I'm easy pleased in the leaves and flowers dept anything but bloody tesco what a cheek

I am so sad that I've actually composed my own ringtone and text alert sound. They're the theme tune from Megaman on the NES and the 'secret revealed' noise from Zelda, respectively.

I have ring ring. I want to wring wring the necks of people who have anything else... my eldest daughter is forever thrusting her winnie the poo becovered phone up my nose, and going "no, but LISTEN, you'll guess who this is, its GREAT, no but listen, really"... cue some godawful unrecognisable beep beep tink tink tonk noise. Vile. A friend of a friend has a fantastic phone.. when it rings, it says, in her voice "Im in your bag you daft cow" That'll do me.

One of mine is 'Love Will Tear Us Apart' by Joy Division played by an orchestra of bees. Another is "Blue Monday" as imagined by a pocket calculator A third is "Debaser" by The Pixies as played on pocket calculator by bees. When Dad phones, the Halloween Theme gets going.

Now imagining Mark travelling on the tube, half-asleep, with some sinister noises going "Got me a movie , ha-ha-ha-ho, slizzzzzzing up eyeballzzzz, ha-ha-ha-ho" in his pocket. I'd move. And so would you, you liars.

No flashy, they are mostly made for you. I'm in a minority these days I know, but my phone is for making and receiving phone calls. It goes 'brrr brrr' when someone calls me and remains silent at all other times.

I'm not sure what my call tone is because no one ever calls me. I was outside the country for three weeks and found no messages, not even an sms, waiting for me on my return. Still, I think I have it set for something like 'The Mexican Hat Dance." An sms just goes brzzz brzzz. I haven't quite been able to figure out how to download ringtones yet, though I haven't tried very hard. My favorite to hear on someone else's phone is the theme from Mission Impossible. I have some original music composed for our long-departed and little lamented web business I'd like to use as a ringtone but I'm not sure how to get it onto the phone. It probably wouln't sound very good on a phone, though.
