This is absolutely groaning with vivid imagery; I can almost taste the dust and inner desolation. Lovely!

Yes - excellent imagery but also a beautiful - if very unusual, love poem. I was mesmerised by the very male voice used and signalled by the first word 'Sir' as I am sure you intended poetjude. Very sneaky but admiringly clever. So I forgot the poet is female even when until the last few lines which twisted gender in my brain. I always like to be surprised by what I read. Thank you poetjude... a most enjoyable, sensual and visual experience. Check out my website: http://www.francesmacaulayforde.com

Thank you so much. I reveal a bit more about the poem http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/index.php?book_id=50&chapter=4&versi... might make more sense now!

Oh! That was a surprise. I thought you'd been reading Doors lyrics.

There's nothing more mind-teasing than the incomprehensible eagerly avowed -
