Hallelujah

Love it or hate it, the lyrics are definitely a cut above the normal Christmas number one level.

The bit I thought particularly clever was:

"The fourth, the fifth. The minor fall, the major lift."

As these words are being sung that's exactly what's happening in the chords.

It's actually quite hard (well it is for me) to pull off something like that i.e. make it fit seamlessly with the other lyrics, while working in a reasonable rhyme and overlaying it with a decent melody line.

But that's what good old Leonard manages to do.
