Help ABCtales.com
There are clickable banners (advertisements) at the top of each web page at ABCtales.com (currently Amazon.co.uk and Amercan Express). By clicking, it shows your support for ABCtales.
I enjoy ABCtales greatly and this suggestion is my way of saying thank you for this wonderful website for writers. There's much work in a website this large. So go up to the top of this page right now and give a click. Thanks.
Barry Wood
Michael Owen! Hahahahaha. And I used to have a book by Ian Rush. That was soooooo boring. Toshack, hmmmm I remember him. Big fat welsh guy
Right on, Andrea!
Spaghetti: Let us know how you liked the Wildred Owen book. My best to you.
You may have noticed that 'The Book Place.com' has replaced Amazon. This is due to ethical considerations with Amazon and the fact that the book place is a better site.
Please all buy your books through us - it really will help!
Barry, it will take seven days to get my book but am reading Generation X . The book rules. Tony, I shall get my brain food from thebookplace.com from now on.
Great, spaghetti. Enjoy Generation X.
Yeah, me too: any book I order will be to help ABCtales.
Thanks Barry, I am almost at the end of it. Is very true to my generation, well me. I too will do anything to help ABC tales
Si, Shampoo Planet is better and Microserfs better still. (Don't read anything later than that though. )
My fave bit in Gen X is where Claire goes to buy moose antlers from people who advertise them in the papers, and it is always a sour woman obviously just divorcing her husband.
Thanks Andrew. I'll check them out. Yeah that is great. I love the fact that Gen X is so easy to read and is not that long.
Spaghetti, perhaps you can write a little review about Generation X when you're finished reading it.
Cheers.
Great Idea! I'll write a review on it.
Si -
Sounds like a good idea for a new thread to me.....short reviews on books. Good, bad, indifferent, whatever.
?
Over to you.
L
I love it. I'll start a thread on it this weekend unless someone does it first
Yep! YOu're right - that's the way to keep these things alive - the sponsors don't like it if nobody clicks on their banners.
I do not, at this time, want to see a credit report on myself, however, so I'll pass until I see something I'd like to read.
I'll keep you posted.
Actually - do you know what might be a constructive exercise?
Have everybody click on the banners and write essays about them - the sponsors would be thrilled to pieces, I'll betcha.
It is true and it does help - so please do it! many thanks to Barry and Carly for their support.
It would also help enormously if you could use our partners from the site - amazon (who will shortly be changed for the bookplace- maybeach, the abctales wine club etc as all of these do help contribute cash to us. Every little bit helps and in these early days whilst we merrily run at a loss, your support is much appreciated.
Thankyou,
The Chief Exec.
You're welcome, Tony. It takes only a moment for members to click through a banner. It's the sponsors and advertisements that "pay the bills." If sponsors don't get enough attention, they'll pull out. It also doesn't hurt if you use a sponsor's product to tell them you were referred by ABCtales.com
Maybe a mention on the daily newsletter would nudge a few members.
Happy Mother's Day from Canada everyone.
Barry Wood
Oh yes! Mother's Day! Oh, joy!
Waiting with bated breath and great anticipation, as I have done for the last 25 years for...zilch.
(am clicking on banners as we speak)
I done my bit. I just bought a book by Wilfred Owen on Amazon.
Spag lad,
A book by MICHAEL Owen, surely?
Next best: Gosh, It's Tosh! by John Toshack.
(Don't ask - you're far too young)
Ok - another idea?
Get everybody involved in my Balderdash game ... we could even play it with the banners ... ask questions, give answers with one of them as a Balderdash
That will get everybody clicking on the banners
Hrrrrmmmmph! That doesn't mean anybody's to neglect their writing ..... 'tis equally important!
