Help I don't know how it's going to end!!!

So I'm writng a ya fantasy novel (maybe you've read it on here) and I'm about 50 pages into it...my question/concern is that I don't know how it's going to end! I've thrown around a few ideas but none have screamed oh that's it! Its going to depend on whether I write a sequel or not and I don't know about that either! Is this normal, shouldn't I know how my own novel is going to end by now?!?!

Ps: if you've read my story and liked it then like my fan page ...

Whoa there etrnaldream. There's no rush. Stick it in the draw for as long as it takes for the ending to come to you - which it will. The thing is, endings can be very timid things and the harder you try to catch them the more likely they are to run away. Just be patient. It'll work out in the end.

I agree - my story unfolded itself as I went along. I knew where it was set, and several of the characters, as well as an initial plot-line, however, as I write, things change and sometimes the story takes a completely different direction. The best endings are those that are not forced and are allowed to develop naturally with the story. That's what works for me, though others may be different. Just keep going, and don't give up! I begin with the given characters and the basic plot, and then the story just comes to me as I progress. Not so long ago, I somehow deleted the second half of a novel and was gutted. I eventually completed it, but I know that the storyline had changed drastically. Stick with it and the ending will come to you.

Let the characters find their own ending. If you breath enough life into them they'll do that - all you have to do is give them oxygen - i.e. keep typing.
