There is a lot i like in this, it is well written and realistic, but i think i was expecting some sort of twist or link between the boy racer and the narrator, so the ending just seemed to peter out rather than conclude. But this is just my opinion, i personally like short stories that surprise or draw strands together a the end, but others may disagree.

But it certainly held my attention, ty for the read.

Welcome, Webb. I take it you followed Tom's link over here. This story really held my attention. It's written so naturally and, like Juliet said, realistic. A twist or link would've been nice, but I didn't feel disappointed with the end - it left me thinking about my childhood, which was in a similar place where everybody knew everybody. I didn't like the title at first, but once I read the story, I found it very fitting.
Good to see this here, Webb. How's your British accent? If you want to buy my book, visit my blog: http://whatisthisstrangeplace.blogspot.com/
Car breakdown/accident ... seeking help at a remote house ... what's in the offing here, sex or horror? Something very different in fact, rather surreal but full of attractive writing combining love of countryside, music and nostalgia. Enjoyed it very much.
neilmc, Thank you for your kind comments about Bee Bop. Webb
