Banksy
I think that he is all about big world issues, like when Smash Hits would say about Paul Weller "It's like punk never 'appened". If he's spray painting elephants to make a point just to make market penetration in the US, I think the fucker deserves to die, like Jack Vettriano deserves to die.
I liked what he did in the record stores, swapping I think Paris hilton's new CD for his own doctored version.

Who, exactly, is Banksy? No, wait, I'll go google...
*goes off to google*
OH! I see. Gawd, I'm so not up to date with things. My 'art' is limited to fingerpaintings on the fridge. Why does Jack Vettriano deserve to die?
You're gunna have to explain, Richard. I looked for news on this and don't really get it.
I'd *almost* relish the news that Banksy has sold out because he makes so much other art seem so irrelevant. Why write a poem about war and try to get it published for any purpose other than vanity when Banksy can say it all with a few images *and* broadcast it to the public so effectively?

Is there a whiff of bitterness in the air with that statement? It *is* terrible when someone [else] corners the market...
Ha! A whiff?
I don't mind admitting when something or someone is so good/clever/original that it makes me feel everything I'm working is so much flotsam in the artistic waters.

If it's any small comfort, I feel like that most of the time...
Banksy is brilliant. I'd like to see him do a cartoon about passive aggressiveness.
and I'd like a pair of curtains in that elephant sylee.
i loved the pink elephant, thought the paris hilton thing was clever, until i realised that it was also giving her publicity, so i think that one misfired, loved the stuff he did in palestine, and i like spotting banksy stuff when i'm walking around london...
