Sven has picked four strikers...

... in his provisional World Cup squad.

Two are injured, one is a 17 year-old who has never played a game in the Premiership and the other is Peter Crouch.

I reckon the 1966 squad will be opening supermarkets for at least four more years.

As his choices were crouch, bent, crocked, hobbling and toddling, I don't think we can blame him too much....
Walcott I can live with - it's Owen Hargreaves that bugs me! There's no way he desrves to be in that squad. We've got 8 other midfielders going, including some of the best in the world, but only 7 defenders and 4 forwards. Hargreaves is a non entity. Why not give his place to Luke Young or to a forward like Defoe / Bent? And as for Johnson being in the reserves ahead of Bent... ridiculous! But Walcott I can live with :)

Pretty please!

Dunno how it will pan out, at least we have midfielders that can score. I'm pleased for Walcott, maybe his age etc will help regarding the pressure, what a way to be broken in though. nobody
I've purchased an FA England mug ...I'm all ready I think the plus is that I don't really expect us to do well now so if we do it's a bonus. If we had a full, fighting fit team who make it to the semis or finals then lose - it'd be worse. If you have low expectations you can't be disappointed - that's my rule in life jude "Cacoethes scribendi" http://www.judesworld.net

If Greece can win the European championships, then we stand a chance. Oh, Brazil are going to be there: no chance.

I'm hoping that Theo doesn't turn out to be the next George Weah. Having seen a couple of videos of him and his playing style, the threat definitely is there tho. He's no C.Ronaldo, but 1/8 Oppong's genius would secure him Rooney's place in the squad. Hopefully we'll be seeing Trinidad & Tobago in the qf's. :) Richard x
