Can anyone recommend
...a good 'introduction to poetry' textbook. Preferably one that is engaging and easy to read and understand without oversimplifying or being patronising - probably about A level standard.
Should cover main aspects of poetry cover form, use of imagery etc and give examples and 'case studies'.

I haven't read it, but Stephen Fry's Ode Less Travelled has received good reviews.

Yes Stephen Fry's book is good - and not pretentious like many people would presume. Then again I'm biased as a self-confessed Fry-nut.

Yes. I can understand why. The Twinings ads are something I put to the back of my mind, a bit like when a favourite uncle dances badly and suggestively at a wedding.
