Brittle Star magazine
I've somehow ended up on the editorial board of Brittle Star, a magazine that publishes poetry and short stories by 'new and emerging' writers. We currently seem to be short of (good) short stories.
The submission guidelines are:
Brittle Star welcomes submissions of unpublished, original work in the following categories: 1-6 poems, any length; 1-3 stories, up to 1,200 words; and articles, 1,500 words.
Post: Louise Hooper, 41 Whitton, 89 King Henry's Road, London NW3 3RE (please include SAE)
Email: brittlestar@versify.co.uk as Word or RTF attachment
We do have a website (www.brittlestar.org.uk) but it's still under construction.
Hello I never submit work outside of the Netherlands because I have no idea where I could buy the stamps for the SAE. Does anyone know how to get around this?

Yes, submit your work by email.
"does "unpublished" include this website?"
Different editors have different views. I'd be happy to publish stuff that already appears on ABC as ABC is not a magazine.
Wandelaar, if you *do* need to send hard copy (and you still do with some mags), editors usually accept IRC's (International Reply Coupons), to the value of the stamps, which you can buy in any post office.
If in doubt as to how many you need to send, email the editor and ask.
Failing that, you could always ask a mate (if you have one living in the UK) to send you UK stamps. I used to get my bro to send sheets of them :-)
Good luck.
firstly well done for ending up on the board david of brittle star, that is a place i would not mind being myself, pity that there are no companies like brittle star in the west midlands.
secondly, I think it's great that brittle star will except unpulished material more cmpanies should do it. I will submit mind.
