A Picaresque Tale

I read this book by Brad Aubrey. I would like to know what people think of the e-book phenomenon. A Picaresque Tale has overtones of Adrian Mole, yet has a quirky difference. If you don't want to download the whole book, you can just get a taster for free. The book is on theguildofwriters.com website.

Are e-books a phenomenon? I thought they were a bit of damp squib.

The future of publishing is in the e-book. Such comments are ignoring the quintessential significance of the internet and its impact on the printed word.

Amazon are not releasing sales figures for Kindle, but the rumours are that they have been far from phenomenal. Certainly I take a very busy commuter train into work every morning and so far I've only seen one person reading an e-book. Predicting the future is a mug's game.

I can see what you mean, but this is early days yet. I am sure printed books one day will disappear, with increasing dependence on technology. Predicting the future could be a mug's game, but so is trying to be a writer in today's climate !!!. It is much easier to get a book published in e-book format when the costs are so much lower: people will read them at home, without need of a reader, once downloaded.

The book afore-mentioned by Brad Aubrey is no longer available on the website (16.07.09)
