Women farting.
Thought I'd raise the tone here.
Is the fact that women are farting more these days, or at least more openly, a good thing? It seems to me that this trend - women are now cheerfully farting aloud at my local pub - is part of women's new confidence in doing the things men have always done.
Wouldn't a better sign of social progress be men learning to restrict their farting, rather as women did in the past, on the grounds of good manners? Then we'd have less farting in public altogether, surely a good thing.
The women on this year's Big Brother have farted more often, announced their farts more loudly, and congratulated each other more enthusiastically on their farts more than the men. For the first time.
Scientifically, anyone can hold back a fart, male or female, I suspect. Except in dire circumstances, so to speak.
