Are there any unpublished, published or freelance writers out their who have created a Yahoo group, Msn group or Bravenet web journal as a site for their fans or for any other purposes if so what's the best thing to put down on the site any good suggestions.

I do! I do! Oh, please! As to the first question: um, isn't that kinda what this site is supposed to be?
Is this on a "You build it and they shall come basis"? There was an article in the Sunday ABC about the X-Factor that makes a best-seller. Apparently, it's being nice to booksellers and fans. They then try extra hard to promote your book. This makes sense to me. After all, 'networking' is just a slightly technical word for 'being nice to everyone involved in publishing'. We had that anecdote a while ago about an agent who only represents people he likes. I think that may be all there is to it. Meet people in publishing - be nice to them. Then meet people in bookselling - be nice to them. Voila. What does the ABC of ABCTales stand for? Arts, Books & Culture? Atomic, Bacterial, Chemical?

I thought it was more clever than that - I thought the B stood for Bird (John), the C stood for Cook (Tony)... But I was still stuck on the A.
