Puss in Aladdin's Beanstalk

I had this problem with an American i know. I told him that a panto is basically a play based on popular children's stories like Dick Whittington and Cinderella, etc. It is usually a comic performance with traditional features like the panto horse, a dashing hero and a fairy godmother, etc, that lead to the downfall of the villian, usually in a humerous way. Hope that helps.
