I dont understnad ABCtales?

Hi
When we write things, how do we receive feedback. I cant believe that after 2500 reads I havent had one piece of feedback, or comment?

Perhaps im looking in the wrong places?

Thanks guys

Do you comment on stories posted by other people? There was (and may still be though I haven't looked) a suggestion on the home page that for every piece of work you post you should comment on someone else's work. I always do, as do lots of other contributors. Not everyone does, however and others tend to comment in friendship groups, but the best way of getting feedback on your work is to engage with other people about theirs.

Hmmmm perhaps, but I dont think that neccesarily the right way as some people enjoy reading other peoples work, whilst others dont. The kind of thing I write is quite rare on this site so little interests me. But I will take that on board and look around for some things to review. Thanks

I don't read science fiction, but I took the time to do it because you wanted some feedback, I also gave you a pointer in a direction of a decent science fiction writer on here that I'm aware of. Improving your writing will probably be encouraged by reading different genres and developing your own literary techniques and ideas in your own. I'd have thought. But I could be wrong. Good luck with it.

I have always found that the more I read, the better I write. Reading work on here has always inspired me to write, and comments left on my work by others have improved me and guided me as a writer. For every piece I post, I try to read and comment on at least five other pieces, usually hitting the 'recently added' and 'cherrypicked' list. If you want others to read your work and comment on it but are unwilling to return the favour, I have no respect for you, since this is a writing forum and that is a very 'take' attitude with no 'give'. I find that the more I post comments, the more I receive - people are usually reciprocal, which is how the site works, to everyone's advantage, I might add. J x
