A tantrum?

I watched a TV programme about a year ago. Great train journeys or somehting. Anyway, this one was about a journey through Spain and was presented by Portillo. He did the thing really well and came across as an interesting person. He met some of his family there; an uncle who fought on Franco's side during the civil war, the opposite side from Portillo's father. Can you imagine how Portillo's father must feel. He takes up arms against the fascists, loses his home and has to flee into exile, raises a son in the UK. The son grows up - and becomes a Tory.

He has just been a single mother for a week. Doing two jobs and looking after 4 children, at least one of them a stroppy little madam. For £79. But fear not!! There are always people worse of than yourself, in this great country of ours. And it is the policy of the Conservative party to see that this position is maintained. If Portillo was my mum, I'd run away from home.

Tony - I agree with you. Keep IBS - Ken Clarke might make them electable, at least in the face of the public. What a frightening thought. Having said that, I am desperately p****d off with Blair et al. And as for John Prescott......

Well, I was most impressed to see Portillo scraping eggs of the dirty floor (he'd failed to clean it) and cook it for the kids. And talk about anti social behaviour, he sits inside with his feet up while the kids fight outside. Great example of being able to talk the talk...
