Focus by Arthur Miller

Just finished this - Focus is a novel by Miller, first published in 1945, about an ordinary office worker living in New York who becomes the subject of racial abuse after being mistaken for a Jew.

It's a very powerful book, just as good as his best plays, and seems just as relevant today in the current climate of suspicion and intolerance towards, for example, asylum seekers.

Has anyone else read it?

I must specialise in the obscure (or something). If anyone's interested, here's the link: http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/0413771628/qid=1084825968/sr=1-... Incidentally, 'Focus' was recently filmed - I haven't seen it but William H. Macy is one of the stars. [%sig%]
