A Subaltern's Farewell!
I've just been reading this week's obituaries.

Thankfully, nobody has (I think) ever walked past me and commented "Gosh, look... I bet she's an accountant's daughter from Guildford."

In the past, "What a state!" or "Can you smell vodka?"
Nowadays, they say nothing as I am fairly unremarkable in looks, mannerisms and aroma.
