Been a while...

Wow, lots has changed!

There are new symbol thingys on the stories - not just the old cherry anymore. Is there a guide somewhere for people who don't have a clue?

I'm being moderated!!! Seems my comments are all being double checked. I take it that's because it's been so long since I logged in I'm being treated as a newbie?

Interesting to see new names and a surprising amount of familiar names. I look forward to engaging/reengaging with you all.

There seems to be a way to like stories, but I guess as a pseudo-newbie I'm not allowed?

You can also follow writers now, much better than what I used to do. I had a folder of bookmarked pages!

I'm sure there's more I've not discovered yet. I look forward to finding out more!

A normal cherry is awarded to note worthy pieces whether poetry or prose as before. If a piece (either poetry or prose) is chosen as a 'pick of the day' it gets a golden cherry. A 'poem of the week' gets a swirly thing. A 'story of the week' gets a scroll. I think that you can like things regardless of whether you are a returning writer to the site. Hope that all makes sense. 8-D

Thanks for the answers, it's good to know what the symbols are. I'm a very curious person and it would have eventually driven me nuts! I remember when the cherries were huge things sat next to the title. It was a real statement then. ;)
Hello Lisa, nice to see you. How's Coombe's Wood doing? :) http://www.ukauthors.com
Hi Lisah, don't know your work but will have a look. Welcome back. Good to see people coming back to the site after a short or long absence.

Hello, and thanks for the replies - been locked out from comments, so thank you Tony for reinstating me! Andrea, Coombe's Wood is doing well - I have six books indie published now, two of which have been bought by Simon & Schuster and will be re-released at the end of the year in the US. Got a bit of a writers block thingy going on, which is annoying as S&S want to see number two of the Plague series (it'll be three books when complete) and they loved the synopsis I sent them. Just got to get my writing arse in gear! That's part of the reason I'm back, I'm trying to write around 500 words a day, just to get the cogs oiled and working again. So far I seem to be managing 500 a week - but I guess that's an improvement! How are you, Andrea? And nice to meet you, Jolono and Prettyrose.
