Thank you sisters. I have found that poetry is the only way that I can express my anger at the continuing failures of men. They are such irredeemable arses. (Black Francis proved this point pertinently by not being able to post a link properly).
If you were wondering, yes, I really did leave him and now find pleasure in my cats and cake. Altogether sweeter and more affectionate.

Hmm. Ah. Interesting that a poem ostensibly about the failings of men seems to focus more on the weakness of the woman. There's little indication in the poem that she has the gumption to leave him, and a fair indication that she should have seen it coming (ie. no suggestion that he was ever anything other than an ass.)
I think the crying stuff is over-done, but the violence is sharp and vivid.
