Langston Hughes - The Big Sea
Autobiography of a black American poet in the 1920s.
Lives in boats, shares small rooms with Russian dancers, nearly gets shot by a mad old German.
Doesn't make any money from poetry so has to do a string of dingy, low-paid jobs.
Great stuff. Has anyone else read it? I like his poems too.
I like his poems too. Is this a new book?
Of course it isnt a new book Liana. David said it was an AUTObiography, and Hughes has been dead for over 30 years.
*slaps Liana*
No. I'm not sure if it's print. I got it in a discount book shop in Charing Cross Road. Published by the crazy lefties at Pluto.
