I know what you mean! Vivid, and very evocative, in that I felt incredibly uncomfortable after I finished reading it. You win a prize for repulsing me (in the best way poss) before breakfast!
The 'making the word' repetitions work well and I like the tense you've used for this (don't know its name, never was much of a grammar girl).
