What is the world coming to ?
Why have I never heard of theses words? do I live in such isolation that the English language is passing me by? am I...old!

I quite like the word 'Fauxmance", it looks nice on the page, probably the 'x'. Many of the English words which we now take for granted were once neologisms; quite a few of them coined by William Shakespeare.
Well if I ruled the world or had any influence at all, I'd be out there promoting the use of 'faff' as a noun - i.e. the bits of life that result in the state of 'faffing' (which does seem to be in the urban dictionaries now). I think it's a good word occupying an as-yet-unfilled space in English vocab. Spread the message! Rob

New words, yet already their meanings are changing. Cleggmania is no longer enthusiasm for the new kid on the block, but now refers to the mad rants he lets off to defend one of his many undefendable policies.

Rob, faffing has long been in the oral lexicon in our neck o't' woods, but we also like furtling (a sort of semi-directed rummage) eg: Furtling through sales-rails at a dept. store. Another contender is Buddling (a sort of unfocussed melee of activity) eg: 'Have you finished buddling around in that sock drawer' Bimbling...to wander in the manner of a flaneur, with no intent to inflict poetry on the world as a result. etc....

I have a new word too... wishtful!

"I will make sense with a few reads \^^/ "
