If only there were two of me
Imagine how delighted I was; two of my favourite american writers both listed in Foyles' forthcoming events: Paul Auster and Michael Chabon. Only to find that my dreams were foiled (pun intended) as they were both giving talks in different locations on the same night.
How do I choose, the author of new york trilogy or the man who wrote Kavalier and Klay? It might be my only chance to see either of them / both of them. What should I do?
I'd put each of their books side by side and then choose the slimmer volume. That is obviously the writer who knew when to say when. Just being practical.
