i shouldn't think so, unless more servers were used to cut bandwidth, but then surely the site would have to run at a handsome profit. i haven't seen any declarations of how well abc is doing, but i should think we may have to deal with slowness for some time. i assume that you are using an adsl or cable connexion, else the slow speed could be attributed to a slow modem at your end rather than at abc's

As an sub-editor on the site who has to spend hours reading through all the stuff it's been like wading through soup the last few days. I have mentioned this to the bods at the office and no it's not normal and they're looking into it. Tonights been much better. It was driving ME MAD!!

Hi, We've been looking into this and made some changes to the server at about 5pm which should help (we're running the stats report less often and have generally cleaned things up) The reason this happened (according to our techie) is that there were far more people using the site than we initially planned (thank-you - we love you all!) and we had to reconfigure the server accordingly. Mail me if it's still slow. Cheers Em

A bit of coffee might speed things up, what? Works for me! Cream and sugar with yours? Sir Folgers
