Playaway
I've just met Brian Cant!
Is that wrong?
X
Unless Brian Cant is a euphemism?
It's OK Ralph, as long as you did your best to avoid him.
No. I shook his hand and everything. It was a breakthrough moment.
As a lad I used to freak out and hide behind the sofa when Camblewick Green came on. The clown who used roll the credits at the end has haunted me for over 30 years.
I feel released. Released you understand!
He was wearing a nice cardigan as well.
And to top it all George. Your mates band 'The Hamsters' called me up and want to play a gig at me venue.
I have not decided yet. They are a good pub band and everything, but could they handle the big stage?
A stage that Brian has walked on.
You 'met' 'Brian Cant' and 'released'.
I change my original prognosis. That IS wrong.
Look!
Here is a beautiful picture of Brian.

Stop it now.
I can't. I'm gripped.
geddit. I can't.

Well they were support band for Status Quo last year on part of their tour, but then you KNEW that you provocative little sod.
Whilst we're name-dropping, Ralph, I was at a party four weeks ago with Gary Tallant!
Now there's a guy to be envied!
Gary Tallant?
That's a familiar name. Where do I know that name from?
Well, I'd do 'The Hamsters' on a double bill with someone like 'Wilko Johnson' or 'Nine Below Zero' but on their own they might be a hard sell up here.
I am thinking hard about it though.
I think they are doing the 100 club soon, so I'll check them out there.
Name dropping? Ralph wouldn't do that, now, would he?

I feel quite odd.

We have Pam Ayers coming later on in the year.
A legend.
Yeah, and I see you got George Galloway too! Now what the fuck is THAT about?
George was meant to be playing tonight, but the local council got all scared and made me pull it because of the nearness of the local elections. It was booked months ago and was a sell out.
He is coming back later on in the year and might die a death the moment might have passed.
I replaced him with Brian and and only 80 people have shown up.
But it's Brian and its beautiful

Blimey George. From the E Street Band!
You win, hook line and sinker.
I think it's Gary S Tallant. I might be wrong.
That's the guy, he's been with Springsteen for years.
I won't go over the top and say who else was there, but it was a really small party of about 10, a songwriters meeting in a private house in Nashville.
A man who's the spit of Leo Sayer just sat at the computer opposite me.
Well tell Leo to stop spitting and wipe the mess up.
