Weeeeeeeee!
Reviews are coming in!
There's that one in the Metro, the Big Issue up North had a really good one and there's a good one in the Independent... here:

Had the most exciting day today going round the bookshops, tracking down copies of my book. Borders, Foyles, Blackwells. I have taken photos of myself pretending to laugh at my own jokes. It was brilliant.
Then I went on Welsh radio and my Ma and Pa listened in on the wireless.
I have been so excited, all day.
I repeat: Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!
Thanks guys.
It's been optioned by Warp Films, who just made This Is England, which was very brilliant. And the first draft of the script has just turned up. I am going to read it today.
ABCTales is in my book's acknowledgements. For good reason.

It really is terrific - and thankyou for the ABCtales mention. It is greatly appreciated. I shall get it on the front page as soon as I can.
We will have a couple of copies to give away as prizes in the next writing comp - coming very soon. But don't hang on - get out and purchase a copy now!
My nose is blocked so I'll have to take John's word that it smells nice. Actually, I won't. I'll hold judgement on its aroma until my nose clears and then make my mind up. The book actually fell off a shelf and hit me on the head yesterday. So I'm feeling a degree of ambivalence towards it on a behavioural front. I feel you may have written a rather naughty book, Joe.
Finally finished "The Welsh Girl" by Peter Ho Davies and started on "Submarine".
Read the first chapter and realised I'd read it before - on here, I believe. The bit where he's sick on his neighbour's car. Stuck in my mind, for some reason!
Everyone who's seen my copy has picked it up and said "That's an interesting cover"; and then they read the blurb and say "Oo, that sounds good!"
My copy of Submarine arrived in rural Spain earlier in the week. It took me a day to read it. That's a good thing, it means I enjoyed it, it means I'm going to read it again.
I have been e-mailing friends demanding they buy it
and will, I confess, bask in the reflected glory of having a connection (however remote :-D) with such a good writer.
A pleasure to have read you, Joe.
Hello! Thanks for reading, Ewan, and so quickly! Glad you liked it.
And Barely Black and 4G and Chant and Chelsey, thank you lots for getting hold of copies - hope you enjoy it.
There was a small good review in the FT yesterday too which, according to my entrepreneur uncle, means I've made it.

Hi Joe, just to let you know that I've been in every book shop in Norwich with a marker pen and have scribbled out your name on copies of Submarine and replaced it with 'Tim Cook', who believes himself to be some sort of writer. I had to do this. I am evil.
best wishes,
T.
