This Sort of Thing

Fyodor Dostoevsky once said. ‘The cleverest of all, in my opinion, is the man who calls himself a fool at least once a month.’

With this in mind I have taken to revealing on the worldwide web the contents of my journal once (maybe twice) a month, allowing fellow worldwide webbers to judge the level of foolery and comment accordingly.

But I am contractually obliged to produce precisely one hundred words per day; no more and no less. Hyphenated words only count as one and numbers and words written in the Cyrillic alphabet don’t count at all. I love loopholes!

Лесно е, като да вземеш бонбон от бебе.

This Sort of Thing - November 2023 - First Half

In the words of the great philosopher and visionary, Ronan Keating, 'Life is a rollercoaster, you’ve just got to ride it.' But I'm more inclined to believe that life is a dodgem ride.

Written at the rate of 100 words per day, this is the second part of my account of a journey from the settee to the corner of our kitchen where the kettle is. At this point the kettle is switched on. I only wish, during that icy month, I could have said the same about myself.
