The small details - eg settling her mpther with the Tesco Clubcard magazine - so perfect, and the twist about headquarters tweaking Spencer's settings is quite sinister!
I hope you feel better soon about your house - you are right of course, this isn't the best time of year to move - especially an old stone one. On the bright side, and speaking from experience, it will be wonderfully cool in the summer!
Agree with Ewan and Mrs Pepys' commendation - thank you Turlough - though jerualsem artichokes are really quite nice if you can get someone else to do the hard labour of peeling them. Never had in a soup, but lightly cooked with a little butter...
