Story and Poem of the Month

Our Story and Poem for the month of October have very kindly been chosen by onemorething. Here's what she says:

It’s a huge pleasure to choose the Picks of the Month. However, there is so much great writing on the site in the course of a month that it’s always a hard job!

And yet, gongs have been awarded!

For Story of the Month, we must return to the start of October and Jane Hyphen’s A Real Doctor. It’s hilarious, makes me smile just thinking about it and very well written. I love its quirkiness.

There are many other gems, of course, and honourable mentions must be made of these pieces of writing:

Celticman’s Ugly Puggly has continued throughout October and is just great writing. https://www.abctales.com/story/celticman/ugly-puggly-86

Ed Crane’s The Trials of An Angel has also seen us through October – excellent storytelling!

Also, cssquirrel’s surreal https://www.abctales.com/story/csquirrel/our-second-core-belief-loyalty-based-leadership is very much worth reading.

Poem of the Month is Lenchenelf’s Center of its own Universe which is so perfect that it brought a tear to my eye. It’s just wonderful. https://www.abctales.com/story/lenchenelf/center-its-own-universe

It was closely followed by Di Hard’s tree time which is brilliant and also very moving. Sometimes it is painful to choose! https://www.abctales.com/story/dihard/tree-time

I think mention should be made, too, of Angusfolklore’s poems in October. These two were so good:

And, of course, Lem’s very powerful poem: https://www.abctales.com/story/lem/vessel-overflows

Best wishes for a good November to all.
