from my facebook of yesterday, call it frustration...
"
Went off to Dereham today and saw Grand-daughter and her parents... while shopping in QD I saw out of the corner of my eye. A woman, dressed poorly in plain colors lingering over the main aisle... it was if she thought I couldn't see her yet I did. She looked almost fairy-like, grey, haggard skin, as tired as an old sin. As soon as she noticed that I could see her she fled.
She left an unpleasant smell behind her. She must be very ill.
From behind me floated out rude comments about the old in stores...
and then someone said, "She's one of them from the US, and hasn't anything, not anything..."
I wonder... "
Questions:
1. Is it one of America's missing people see Clarence House's post on g+ for details... if not removed by now, video by bbc..
2. are they living outside of the benefit system?
3. did their churches have arrangements for visiting in the uk, and when the finances went wrong a few years back did they takek people out of the US. In a kind of 'helpful' way so that starvation was avoided?
4. Is the 'smell' symptomatic of an earlier 'poverty' desease now coming back to the UK.
