I'm fed up asking my computer progammer brother (as is he) how do you do this? Why does it do that? And as I have short term memory loss due to my alcoholic life-style, he can tell me something, and I've forgotten it the next day. Is there a book out there for idiots like me that is SIMPLE TO UNDERSTAND. I don't need to know WHY I'm doing it I just want very simple instructions. For instance when Peeps explained how to do Italics on this site I was completely lost. I want to know how you get the http thingy onto here I want to know how to upload a photograph onto this or any site. I want to set up my own blog etc. etc. etc..

Your'e in luck. I am an IT trainer, and I've been planning to write a dummies guide for some time. Just send a nominal advance, say 20 grand, and it will be ready next week. Make cheques payable to the Hox Early Retirement Fund.

OK, here's wot U do... Before the word or phrase you want italicised, type the less-than symbol (SHIFT-comma) followed by "cite" followed by the more-than symbol (SHIFT-fullstop)... When you get the to end of the word or phrase, type exactly the same as above, but with a backslash directly before the "cite"... You have to make sure you do this second bit, or else it will italicise everything on the page henceforth (i.e. everything!... other people's posts etc)... and then people get very upset! Exactly the same sort of procedure for bold, except in place of "cite" you type "strong"... ...Have I made things simpler or more complicated...?? (PS. you can also do all this when posting stories, which can be handy) ~PEPS~ â€œYou do not truly know someone until you fight them.â€

You think that's hard. This week I have mostly been trying to make a computer display arabic text correctly (which would be easier if there was anyone in the building who could tell the difference between correctly and incorrectly displayed arabic text). 'I wouldn't bother' said a bloke at lunch yesterday, 'pretty soon there won't be an arabia'
