I'm so excited

I am moving into my new flat! Compared to the room I've been renting, it's a palace! It is in between the Elephant and Camberwell. I have a South facing balcony the views from which are over Burgess Park. The views from the bedroom and kitchen windows are over South London towards the South Bank (I'm on 7th floor so it really is a spectacular sight).

I have a huge task ahead as the whole place needs painting and decorating and a new floor. Also I currently have no furniture or appliances so it is an expensive as well as a busy time ahead!

But I am thrilled. I've also realised that I've never lived on my own before. Mind you Pat will be over a lot of the time but I am looking forward to having some space.

congrats jude! don't worry about furniture ... try out freecycle ... my friend's daughter furnished her whole house free using it ... it's fab if you don't mind second hand stuff ... xxx

The housewarming thread will be when the decorating is complet in a couple of weeks time. So far, my secretary at work has given me a phone, Patrick has secured some brand new carpet tiles from his workplace for the hallway, and I have had the offer of a dining table and labour from a carpenter!
