HELP!

My computer usually remembers my user name and password - but the site change has somehow deleted them. Fortunately, I remember them, too... so I entered them, only to get told that one or t'other was invalid. I knew the user name was right, so I clicked to change the password. When I did so, I was then told that my e-mail address was already registered. Sure it is. To ME!
'Do you want to change your password?' it then asked.
Yes, please - so I clicked on the link...
'Access Denied'.
So it seems I either cannot change my password at all - or I can if I use a different e-mail address!

Anyone got any ideas, please, how I can get around this? At the moment, all I can do is use one of the 24-hour log-ins.

It sounds like some sort of Kafka-esque nightmare! Good luck, Gareth
Ah ha - I had a similar problem at the last site change, when I had to change from Lou to 2Lou. I didn't need to access my old account, so I left it at that. I'm sure there must be a work around. ~ www.fabulousmother.com
My password seems to have been reset to what it was before I changed it in November, very curious.

What the f*ck is the point of the site giving you the option to change your password if you've forgotten it IF it then won't allow you to make the change using your registered e-mail address? Do you HAVE to get a new e-mail address simply to change your password?
I'm curious to know how you are posting without having logged in Alan?

what is a 24 hr log in?
Alan - we are onto this glitch - and the others. The site change was forced on us by a sudden collapse of the old site before we were quite ready. It was quicker and easier to do the planned update rather than try to fix the old problems - but there are a few things that are not in place. We are working like crazy to fix them!
TC - glad you still had time for the Story Of The Week.
Dan: The clue's at the end of my first post - which Ivory alluded to in her response! The temporary log-in facility. Ivory: When you request a password change, you get sent an e-mail which gives you a link enabling you to get a temporary log-in so that you can change your password. I can use the temporary log-in, but it won't allow me to change the password. Wierd thing is, the password I originally used is definitely the correct one - the site wouldn't recognise it, though! Tony: Thanks a lot. I realise you guys must have enough to deal with today. Don't worry if you can't address my problem yet. At least I can still log-in temporarily as and when.
alan - all is sorted for you and most of the rest of the stuff is done already - these new guys are the dog's bollocks!
Thanks, Tony - all sorted, as you say. Satisfied customer!
