There's a good chance of NOT seeing me on TV this weekend!
Last June, I was lucky enough to spend a day on a Time Team dig in Cheshire. This particular episode is being shown this Sunday.
My wife is a teacher at a local highschool and a group of the archaeology pupils were invited along. Naturally I found an excuse to go (driver and official photographer).
We were all very well looked after, and we actually got a chance to do do some excavating. I found a human tooth, which I'm sure had them rewriting the text books (in fact I'm disappointed not to get a mention in the Radio Times), and we also got a chance to gossip with the presenters. I'd especially like to thank Phil Harding who turned out to be a thoroughly nice bloke, and who found time to chat despite the hectic schedule; and Tony Robinson - we were warned beforehand that he could sometimes be a bit precious, but he was fantastic with the kids.
I managed to avoid the cameras quite well, but if you see some nosey bugger pointing a camera at anything and everything, it's probably me.
