Irish poet?
Right, another request to help me find the name of a poet I heard on the radio once and liked. He's Irish and he writes about the landscape around where he lives. He recently wrote a book connecting his feelings on the landscape and spirituality. I reckon he's quite well known and I think his surname begins with 'C'. I think he's over 50.
3 gobstoppers and eternal gratitude to the person who can turn these slender clues into a name. Any ideas?
Thanks all, you're brill. :)
Marvelous, thanks. He's deffinitely going to be on one of those sites. What flavour gobstoppers do you want?
Cheers :)
could it be that you mean John O'Donohue?
To be honest, I'm not sure, I've just been looking at some of his stuff on the internet and I could have sworn the guy I remember isn't a priest and is foremost a poet whose most recent volume deals with the landscape and spirituality. But memory's a funny thing and I may be wrong, because this guys voice has the same smooth quality that drew me in to the guy on the radio programme and the few words I've read have moved me in the same way.
So, whether it's him or not, I think you deserve a selection of gobstoppers!
If anyone is interested you can hear some snippets of John here:
Thank you Ulrike :)
you are welcome!!!
i came across John O'Donohue on german tv one day when watching a programme about the west of ireland - my spiritual/second home.
he impressed me no end...the combination of love/admiration for/of nature, deep spirituality and celtic tradition hooked me instantly and i went looking for him on the internet.
i thought it might be him you were looking for, because what you were looking for sounded like him ( a very intuative approach, i admit, but that's the way i am...)
he is deeply religious (being a priest that is obvious), but in a more spiritual than church-related way. he comes across foremost as a poet, not as a priest...
i liked that about him.
