Regular Poetry Meetings In Cambridge

CB1 Cafe, 32 Mill Road Cambridge, CB1 2AD, England, UK (+44) (0)1223 576306

CB1 now claims that it's the oldest cyber cafe in the world. I was at its opening night. It's a fantastic place. I remember when the Internet was completely new to Britain, and we hosted a trans-Atlantic poetry reading in the cafe. I seem to remember that most of the technical equipment failed, although some poems still got read.

I've just spoken to Tapani, who's the manager of CB1 Cafe. I've not met him before. Anyhow, Tapani tells me that irregularly, poetry gatherings are held in the cafe on the 2nd, and 4th Tuesday of each month. Apparently it's wise to check that the event is going ahead.

There's a gathering this month on the 23rd, Jan 07, I'm told. I'm going to attend. Well, well, I'm dead excited. It'll be a real blast from the past! I'm taking the anthology with my, Cruel World, in it. It'll be an experience.

Ah, I'd come but my son has Scouts on Tuesdays. Nice to see another Cambs person. The others have disappeared, some thankfully.
Sounds saucy. Will there be nibbles? There's nothing more mind-teasing than the incomprehensible eagerly avowed - Dennett
