Afro washing-up sponge

Another newsbyte from the Daily Mail today reads;

Campaigners have attacked British makers Paladone for its latest range of dish cleaning products which caricatures black soul legend Diana Ross and a 70s disco dancer, both inset left, as having a brillo pad for a hairstyle. Anti racism campaigner Weyman Bennett said: ‘What are we going to have next, toilet brushes like that?'. The products, used to scrub dishes have been likened to producing 'golliwogs' and slammed as 'not appropriate for the 21st century'.

Campaigners are getting a bad name because of blithering baffoons of this type.
If I was black (and I may have been in another life) and loved disco (which I do), I'd probably want one of these if they weren't too expensive. Washing-up can be a pretty humdrum exercise so seeing a happy face on the end of my washing brush would definitely cheer me up, but it's got to the stage that if I got one I'd probably be wrongly accused of being racist, not by a black person but by a white.

The anti-racism cause is long overdue but things like this just make fools of us all and only help to erase the good work of those who actually have brains and campaign to good purpose.

Weyman Bennett would be wise to find out who liked these products before castigating producers of harmless fun.

Don't believe everything you read in the Daily Mail.
Hi Blessing, If they brought a Diana one out, it would have to be her 80's big-hair look. There'd be no brush power if they went with the Vogue look of 92. Hi Stan, You're the best looking bog brush I've seen but I won't be asking you to do a quick whisk around my bog. You're far too big, although Mr Rock of Shitwits might be interested. Hey TC, It must surely be true if it's in the Mail, no? It sounds very believable to me, but there again I'm a mug for Afro washing-up sponges.

Pc bolleaux. I love my golliwog! Here's the article in question --> http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2135711/Afro-washing-sponges-sal... I wouldn't believe anything you read in any paper (but especially not in the DM) http://www.ukauthors.com
