Prayers for Sick Family & Friends

Thank you so much, dear friends for your prayers for my youngest sister, Susan. She survived an eight hour operation on February 14, 2013. Her left lung was removed, as well as her esophagus, and remaining cancer scraped off her heart (aorta). She now has major tubes in her for feeding and digestive reasons. She must be monitored for blood clots and infections. She is very uncomfortable, yet happy to be alive. Susan faces 2-3 months in the hospital for recovery. The doctor who is a specialist in his field says this was the most complicated and difficult operation he has ever performed. Please continue to keep her in your prayers, Susan is only 59, and she believes in the power of your prayers.
With major thanks, from Richard and Esther Provencher.

I hope Susan makes it, Richard, and I'll certainly mention her in my prayers, my thoughts are with you and your family.
She'll be in my thoughts, Richard. I wish her the best. Rich

I will light a candle for her tonight, Richard. Tina

Thinking of you Esther and of course your niece Richard.

Thank you so much friends; scratch-silver-hudson-and walrus; very much appreciated. Life is so precious as I often mention in my writing. Just ten days ago, my sister was annoyed at this strange feeling in her side, an uncomfortable sensation. Within days the prognosis from this straight shooting specialist---an operation immediately or die withing two to seven months. Susan was wise, she accepted the operation. Cheers, from Richard and Esther.

All best wishes to you Richard & Esther - and to Susan, a very courageous lady. I'm currently looking after a close family member who has recently suffered a heart attack. I must say, the doctors, surgeons and nursing staff who attended to my relative did so with compassion, good humour and the utmost professionalism. Life is indeed precious and we should celebrate the dedication of medical workers wherever they may be.

Thank you kilb50 for your kind comments. We are born, live life, bring kids into the world, sometimes get very sick, life threatened and what is the purpose of it all? It is the journey that is life, and until the last gasp, so precious. For those with personal faith, it is never the end. Richard.

Richard, you and Esther and brave Susan are in my thoughts too. I pray God will give all three of you comfort and the strength to endure. Moya

My thoughts are with you and Esther at this stressful time Richard. Wishing Susan a full recovery.

Thank you two, Moya and jolono, ABC friends, for your comfort and concern. My baby sister (everything is relative, eh?) has overcome much these past fifteen years, a divorce and on the wagon for twelve yrs. Her volunteer work for those twelve years with those unfortunately addicted to booze continues to give her an edge in understanding. Our dear dad who gave four years of his life to fight in WW 11, came home quite dysfunctional and like too many veterans, addicted to booze. We suffered the consequences all our young lives. Dad has passed on now and is forgiven.

Thank you so much, Sun. Each of my three sisters are vivacious, witty and passionate for life. To think of our mortality can be overwhelming. Yet the concerns of kind persons like yourself helps immensely during the season of our sadness. Richard LP

Life is as fragiule as an egg, Richard, and it's only when something goes wrong that you stop taking it for granted.
Thank you, Walrus. Yes, life is fragile. To think my sister went to check re an irritation in her side and twelve days later---omigosh. Now they will operate tonight on saving her vocal cords. This would be the absolute worse thing for Susan who loves to talk; in fact all my siblings do, and me too. Richard

God bless you, Julie. Yes, prayers are precious and I thank you for adding us onto your prayer list. The latest news is, my sister Susan remains on an induced coma. The good news is they reduced her medications keeping her in this state, and she did not react too much. They also continue to reduce her oxygen intake. A concern is for her remaining lung. The doctor worries it may be compromised because of the pneumonia. They will tell more when they review the latest x-rays taken. They may take her off her induced coma state this Monday or Tuesday. God bless you once again, and to all who continue to pray.
