Wyoming Skies : bobbiego/

I hate poetry. Well that's not strictly true, I *did* hate poetry but the last twelve months or so, I've been forcing myself to read some and I've found that I *Quite* like some of it. What I can't stand are the very spacey pieces that belong in the mind of the writer and it's like a monkey puzzle trying to work out what the hell angsty trip they're on. I like to read, enjoy and move on. That's why I like story's. I haven't yet got into the work it takes to involve myself in poetry. In another twelve months I'm going to be into all that heavy stuff.

Anyway I digress.

This is one beautiful piece of writing. Each line is so pretty and well constructed. I really like this one. Sometimes I read a piece (usually a story) and I wish that I'd written it. This is one of those pieces.

(Don't you just love the random button?)

I feel the same way as you do about poetry Sooz, so I thought I would give it a go and see if it did anything for me. Liked it as a descriptive piece but I don't think I grasped that essential something that makes a description into "poetry". Not a criticism, just a missing sub-routine in my own mental programming. Liked the line a Wyoming sky's night under which ragamuffins become kings For those of you who would like to have a look the link is: http://www.abctales.com/abcplex/viewstory.cgi?s=19438
