&U, Mr B! :-))
My missus did her Jedi Mind Trick on a bouncer-type-person at a swanky pub last night, thus enabling us and a mutual friend to get in free, where we otherwise would have paid £25 (!!!£25!!!) for a ticket... hurrah! Oh, and we saw "Night at the Museum," which was reasonably entertaining...
What did other folks get up to then?

The firework display was brilliant. I'm sure many Londoners will be happy to know that wanker Ken has spent some of the cash he 'highway robbed' on entertaining the nation. Of course, the upcoming London Olympics and the need to portray London as a magnificent place to come to had nothing to do with it!
Assuming The Secret Policeman's ball was a repeat of the night before, it was, on the other hand nothing other than a string of pathetic working men's club performers that couldn't get through a sentence without saying either, 'fuck off' or 'fucking hell', or some other combination of 'fuck'.
And the male performers were no better.
I can't for the life of me see how it's likely to help Amnesty international to be associated with such an exhibition of foul language.
It made this forum look rather puritanical by comparison.
"I can't for the life of me see how it's likely to help Amnesty international to be associated with such an exhibition of foul ;language."
It does, though. Anyway... I enjoyed it. I thought it beat listening to Lily Allen and The Zutons on Jools Holland's Hootenanay - which I would otherwise have watched.
I was in bed with my earmuffs on.
Have never been more in total and complete and utter agreement with George re Ken wankpot Livingstone and it being one of the few chances to witness him burning our cash.
Very good view from my bedroom window.
